Leaving Home...Whoo hoo!

If you read the last post then you'll know that I'm moving to canberra. Now for those rare occasions when bloggers randomly peruse other blogs, I'll enlighten you all about where Canberra is: it is south south-west of sydney (Australia), approximately 290km from my place. Canberra is very hot in summer and very cold in winter and is full of uni students and politicians. Put these two groups of people together and you have legalised: pornography, fire works and marijuana(sort of legal to carry some) ...

Ok, so the problem with Canberra is that there is a really low turn over rate for rental properties and it can be extremely competitive to get an apartment - particularly when uni is about to start the new year. This leads me to my prob: HOW TO FIND AND MOVE INTO AN APARTMENT BEFORE UNI STARTS SO I'M NOT LIVING IN MY BLOODY CAR FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS!!!
It is so annoying and is compounded by:
- property owners not liking to lease places to uni students
- having to physically view a place to get an application (meaning I have to drive to canberra for a 10 minute viewing of an apartment owned by someone who might not even look at my application once he/she sees i'm a student!!!)

Well, despite this problem i actually found a place in a nice three bedroom townhouse in a undisclosed location (just in case my many stalkers google me to find out where i'm living). It takes only 15mins in "peak-hour traffic" to get to uni and its kinda pretty. A little pricey but worth it if it means i can desist from the aimless apartment hunting.

What all of this has made me believe: being an adult sucks.
